*Raja Ravi Varma was a world famous painter and artist. He was born in Kilimanoor Palace Travancore on April 29, 1848. He is a painter among kings and a king among painters. In 1904, Viceroy Lord Curzon on behalf of the British Emperor, bestowed upon Varma, the Kaiser-i-Hind Gold medel.The citation for this award mentioned the title 'Raja' for the first time against his name. He is known as "Chitramezhuthu Koyi Thamburan."

"Vadakkanpa -ttu" are the songs describing the valour and greatness of famous warriors like Thacholi Othen- an, Unniyarcha etc.
