*Onam is period of boat race. People sitting in different boats, singing the " vanchi  pattu"and rowing boats. The excitement and togetherness of a group can be seen in the boat race.

3.Collect the pictures of art forms and write about it

i) Thullal



Kunchan Nambiar found Thullal. Thullal mocks at the evils of society with a pinch of humour. Ottam thullal, Parayan thullal,Sithankan thullal are three types of thullal.

ii) Kathakali



Kathakali is an art form of Kerala. Dance, acting, music and mudras are equal important in Kathakali. Kathakali is known as the "King of arts."

iii) Thiruvathirakali

Women perform dance around a lighting lamp on the day of Thiruvathira in the month of Dhanu. During the thiruvathirakali women wear traditional Kerala costumes, decorate their hair with Desapushpam.

iv) Kolkali

Kolkali is an art form where performs dance in a circle. They sing together and dance to the rhythem of song beating the sticks in tune with the song.

v) Margamkali

Margamkali is an art form popular among the Christian females. Margamkalippattu includes the history of St. Thomas one of the disciples of Christ.

vi) Oppana

This is an art form for social entertainment popular among the Muslim community. It is performed on the occasion of marriage and is a compained by Mappila songs. Males also perform this dance.

vii) Daffmutt


Daffmutt arrived Kerala either from Malaya or Lakshadweep. While temple arts spread among other people Duffmutt became an art form among the Muslims
